Melissa’s methodology and personal way of moving has been developed through many years of training and understanding of her own identity as a dance artist.

Born and raised by a family of musicians, her initial interest in dance was triggered by the need of responding in some way to music, creating a solid bond between movement and rhythm which is at the core of her dance practice still today.

Having the chance to work and live in many different countries, Melissa gathered influences from various backgrounds (Flamenco and Turkish Folk Dance amongst others) that merged with a very solid training in Ballet and in Contemporary Dance influencing her unique way of moving.

Melissa’s vocabulary combines very explosive and dynamic flows, with a tendency to shape the body through a fluid and smooth quality some times referring to the lines of her early influences of Classical Ballet, sometimes totally shifting away from them.
