Born in Pesaro (Italy) in 1989, Melissa moved to Florence at an early age to begin her professional training in Ballet at the Accademia Internazionale Coreutica and eventually furthered her training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds (UK), graduating in 2011 with a First Class Honours Degree, being granted the Award for Outstanding Achievement. After graduation, Melissa worked with numerous international choreographers like Akram Khan, Anouk Van Dijk, Andonis Foniadakis, Aakash Odedra, Nicolas Cantillon and Laurence Yadi, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Barak Marshall, İhsan Rüstem, Michael Popper, Bruno Caverna and Beyhan Murphy, performing both new creations and repertoire works with Companhia Instàvel (Portugal), LamatDance Company (Spain), James Wilton Dance Company (UK) and with the Turkish National Company Modern Dance Theatre Istanbul (MDTIstanbul) touring worldwide.
Beside sharing her practice through workshops in Italy, UK, Turkey, Iran and India, Melissa is currently Associated Artistic Director of Aakash Odedra Company (UK), a full-time member of Compagnie 7273 (Switzerland) and a guest performer with Art of Spectra (Sweden). Melissa currently continues her artistic practice through collaborations with fellow artists in the role of movement director, performer or rehearsal director.
In 2020 she becomes part of the ensemble at Münchner Kammerspiele (Germany) with Anouk Van Dijk's and Falk Richter's new creation Touch. In 2012 Melissa also performed at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games with the Akram Khan Company.
