MELISSA UGOLINI

Rosana Ribeiro's new production BREAK THE DAM, which will premiere at Sommerszene festival, follows five dancers as they move from a state of bodily and environmental stagnation toward collective release. TSet in a post-apocalyptic, coal-like and immobile landscape, the performers deal with weight, repetition, and resistance, revealing how pressure builds when forces are held back for too long. 

In the context of the Master Programme MA CoDE at the HFMDK Frankfurt am Main, Melissa travelled to Outokumpu together with her fellow students to take over the curriculum of the Vocational Education in Dance Tanssin Outokumpu directed by Ulla Päivikkö at the Riveria University for a week. 

In the realm of the Workshop series "Summerling" curated by Tanzfabrik Berlin Schule, Melissa will offer a four-day workshop on Imaginative Bodies from the 28. July 2025 until the 01. August 2025. 
This workshop is based on the assumption that learning is a skill rooted in the connection between body and mind. How can ideas and experiences be translated into movement - and vice versa?

Six students from MA CoDE: Yonit Ben-Yehuda, Maria Alejandra Ojeda Mejia, Sofia Seta, Juan Corres Benito, Melissa Ugolini, Mira Urbassek teach professional training in daily changing proposals. During the two Wild Weeks, the common focus will be on the spine, weight, and gravity through the lens of different modern and contemporary dance techniques.

Gravity as Belonging is the title of the Performance Project Melissa will facilitate every Monday and Wednesday evening at Tanzfabrik Schule in Berlin, starting on Wed, 19.02.2025 and culminating in a sharing of the process on Wed, 02.04.2025. 

Melissa is part of Generation 11 (ws 2024/ss 2026) of students of the Master Programme in Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE) at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. 

ABYSSEA-THRU: Alien and Alive premieres at Uferstudios in Berlin on the 15.08.2024.
It is a multi-disciplinary performance created by choreographer Gizem Aksu (TR) in collaboration with performers Leyla Postalcıoğlu and Melissa Ugolini, funded by the Berlin Senate.
